Everly man arrested twice for assaulting victim

Clay County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Everly man twice between late Thursday night and early Friday morning for allegedly assaulting the same victim.

A Clay County Sheriff’s Office report dated Friday stated deputies were first called to Everly for a reported assault late Thursday.

Deputies arrested Jason Guinn, 38, for simple misdemeanor assault at about 11:55 p.m. He was then transported to the Clay County Jail.

Guinn bonded out at about 1 a.m., according to the report.

At 4 a.m., the sheriff’s office again was called to Everly when it was reported that Guinn had assaulted the same victim and caused bodily injury, the report indicated.

Guinn was arrested and booked into the Clay County Jail for serious misdemeanor assault.

The sheriff’s office report stated Guinn was held in jail to appear before a magistrate judge.
