High School Football – Spencer vs. Spirit Lake
For their first game of the season, the Tigers welcome the rival Indians from up north. Kickoff is expected to begin around 7 p.m. Get to Dale Norton Field earlier at 5:30 p.m. for a tailgate hosted by Spencer Municipal Utilities and the Spencer Tailtwisters.

The Studio: Yoga and Barre Celebration of Health and Community
The Studio is putting on a get together at The Bear, 24 West Park Street, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to celebrate its community and hear from Hank Ostwald, who is celebrating two years of yoga practice and healthy life changes.


Spencer Farmers Market
Come early to take advantage of Decision Dollar Saturday. The first $5 spent at any vendor gets rewarded with a $1 coupon for a purchase at BlackEarth Java. Coupons are limited to the first 20 people at each vendor spending $5 or more. You can spend $5 or more at multiple vendors to receive multiple coupons. The market opens at 7:30 a.m. and goes until noon near the South Grand Avenue and 11th Street Southwest intersection.

Spencer Riverfront Farmers Market
It’s Sample Saturday at the Riverfront Farmers Market outside The Bear Coffeehouse and Wine Bar, 24 West Park Street. The market is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Thank Goodness the Kids are Back in School
Del’s Garden has a bunch of activities Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to ring in the new school year. Check out their Facebook events page to see all there is to do.

New Arts on Grand exhibit
Arts on Grand is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and has a new exhibit in the gallery – Walk Through the Process: Picture Books Inside-Out. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how a picture book goes from original art to published book. The exhibit features the book, “Clayton Goes to the Fair.” Join the artists and author for a reception from 1-4 p.m. with a round table discussion at 2 p.m.

Spencer Public Library events
Check out the Anime Club at 10 a.m. and the Fandom Club at 12 p.m.


Family Day at Game State
There’s always a ton going on at Game State, 8 West Fifth Street, but every Sunday is Family Day. Take the whole family down to play some games and get introduced to new ones from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
