The driver of a stolen SUV lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a house on West Fourth Street at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

According to a police report, the person driving the SUV, a black 2009 Toyota Venza, was driving down Breezy Meadow Lane when they lost control, left the roadway, went through residential yards and struck a house at 1006 West Fourth Street.

The driver, who was unknown at the time of the report, then left the scene.

The home sustained about $1,500 in damage, while the vehicle sustained about $1,000 in damage to the front driver-side corner.

Weather conditions may have been a factor in the Venza leaving the road. The police report indicated it was raining at the time of the incident and that the road was wet.

The report also stated the driver may have been driving too fast for conditions.
