A Webb woman was cited for having an open alcoholic beverage container following an accident at M54 and 500th Street, just over 1.5 miles south of Webb, in which the car she was driving collided with a semi-tractor late Friday morning.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported that at about 11:35 a.m. Susan Dobyns was driving a 1994 Buick LeSabre south on M54 in front of a 2006 International semi-tractor being driven by Peter Norgaard of Dickens.

Dobyns was going to make a left turn when, according to the report, she “got scared and pulled back out in front of Norgaard.”

The two vehicles then collided.

Deputies determined Dobyns had been drinking and was cited for having an open container in the vehicle, but that she was not legally intoxicated.

Neither driver was injured in the accident.

The Buick was totaled, the report indicated, while the semi-tractor sustained about $6,000 in damage.
