An accident Wednesday morning at the north intersection of highways 71 and 18 in Spencer resulted in minor injuries.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported that at 7:04 a.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s office and Spencer Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision.
An investigation determined December Pomerenke, driving a 2012 Ford F-150 owned by Christenson Farms, was headed west from the stop sign at the intersection.
According to the sheriff’s office report, Pomerenke proceeded but did not see a 1997 Chrysler Concorde driven by Virginia Bergner, 83.
Bergner was driving south in the 3100 block of US-71.
Pomerenke’s truck struck Bergner’s vehicle in the driver-side.
The report stated Pomerenke was cited for failing to yield upon entering a through highway.
The F-150 driven by Pomerenke sustained $6,500 in damages, while Bergner’s Concorde sustained $4,500 in damages.
