Spencer man faces charges for role in fight

A Spencer man was arrested for assault earlier this month for his role in a fight in March that left a male victim with injuries.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office on April 9 stated in a news release that Dylan Wallace, 26, was arrested April 4 on a warrant for a charge of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

A criminal complaint filed in district court states the incident occurred on March 27.

The complaint states Wallace and two other individuals went to the victim’s residence in the 100 block West Third Street.

They then made contact with the victim, according to the complaint. At that point, Wallace and the others “initiated and engaged in a physical altercation with the victim outside the residence,” the document states.

The victim received abrasions to his face and neck area.

Names of the two other individuals mentioned in the complaint and the victim were not included in the complaint or Clay County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Wallace posted a $1,000 cash bond on April 4 and was released.
