A Hartley woman was transported to Spencer Hospital Tuesday morning after the vehicle she was driving hit a deer in the 1000 block of US-18.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Valerie Moermond, 59, was driving a 2018 Chevy Equinox east on US-18 when the front end of the SUV struck a deer crossing the roadway.
The sheriff’s office report stated airbags were deployed and caused possible injuries to Moermond.
She was transported to Spencer Hospital.
The Equinox sustained $7,000 in damage, according to the report.
