Man injures Clay County deputies, jail staff during OWI arrest

A man injured deputies and Clay County Jail staff early May 4 while he was being booked for OWI and other traffic violations.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office in a news release stated Jaydn Domingo Sanchez Roberts, 22, Spencer, was brought to the jail following his arrest on the traffic charges when he confronted and assaulted deputies and jail staff.

Sanchez Roberts injured deputies and jail staff in the incident.


He was charged with four counts of assaulting a peace officer and interference with official acts causing injury in addition to OWI, speeding, open container and driving without a license.

A deputy had stopped Sanchez Roberts at 1:29 a.m. May 4 for speeding in the 2900 block of Highway 71.

He was held in the jail to appear before a magistrate.
