Vehicle damage investigation leads to Spencer man’s arrest

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Spencer man Thursday afternoon as the result of a damaged vehicle investigation that began May 28.

According to a sheriff’s office report, Neil Duncan, 62, was arrested on a warrant with an original charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief, a serious misdemeanor.

The warrant was issued following an investigation into a vehicle that was damaged last week in the 2800 block of 340th Street.

An estimated $384.77 in damage was done to the vehicle.

Duncan was not able to provide the $1,000 cash or surety bond and was transported to the Clay County Jail to await his initial court appearance.
