Sheriff’s office finds drugs after impounding, searching vehicle

A Milford woman faces multiple drug charges and a Hartley man faces two traffic-related charges connected to a June 12 stop about two miles east of Peterson.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office on Friday reported a deputy at 6 p.m. June 12 stopped a vehicle being driven in the 3400 mile of 145th Avenue by Edwin Gonzalez, of Hartley.

The deputy knew Gonzalez did not have a valid driver’s license, according to a report. Gonzalez was arrested at the scene.

The Clay County K-9 was then brought in and alerted to the vehicle, which was towed to the sheriff’s office impound lot.

On June 13, the sheriff’s office was granted a search warrant for the vehicle. A search turned up several drug paraphernalia items, meth and marijuana.

The sheriff’s office determined the items belonged to the vehicle’s owner, Stella Gore, of Milford.

An arrest warrant was issued for Gore. She was arrested on June 18.

The sheriff’s office reported both Gore and Gonzalez, at the times of their arrests, were held in the Clay County Jail to appear before a magistrate judge.
