A Sioux Rapids man driving on US-71 Sunday afternoon lost consciousness, crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle, but no accident-related injuries were reported.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported Bruce Postolka, 64, was driving north in a 2011 Buick Lacrosse in the 4600 mile of US-71 at about 4:53 p.m. Sunday.
Postolka, suffering from a pre-existing medical injury, a report stated, was going in an out of consciousness. He then crossed the center line, returned to the proper lane, but crossed the center line again.
That’s when his vehicle struck a 2005 GMC Envoy being driven south on the highway by Arturo Sanchez, 51, of Newell.
The sheriff’s office reported there were no injuries related to the accident.
The Envoy sustained minor damage, while the Lacrosse sustained disabling damage.
