Two men were arrested for drug charges following a traffic stop last week in the 3700 mile of US-71 in Spencer.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported that early July 7, a deputy stopped a vehicle being driven by Micah Aden, Rolfe, for traveling 82 mph in a 55 mph zone on the highway.
After an investigation, it was determined that Aden did not have a valid license or insurance and he was arrested.
A passenger in the vehicle, Dalton Arends, Laurens, was found to be in possession drug paraphernalia and was also arrested.
Authorities searched the vehicle. They found other drug paraphernalia items, marijuana and meth.
Aden was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, no insurance and speeding.
Arends was charged with possession of meth, second offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department and Bud’s Service.
