Spencer police last week charged an Emmetsburg man with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and other charges after a traffic stop.
In a press release, police stated 20-year-old Dawson Moen was arrested July 30 after authorities stopped and then searched the vehicle Moen was driving in the 2000 block of Highway Blvd.
During the stop, which occurred at about 1 a.m., a K9 was deployed to conduct a search for drugs. The K9 alerted to a narcotic odor, according to the press release.
A search of the vehicle led authorities to discover several baggies containing marijuana, as well as other paraphernalia items, police stated.
Moen was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia and no insurance.
Moen was booked into the Clay County Jail. He was held on a $5,000 bond.
