Woman arrested for meth possession

A Spencer woman was charged with possession of meth July 26 after a Clay County sheriff’s deputy arrested her for driving while suspended and then found the substance and paraphernalia in the vehicle she was driving.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release that Ranae Leeann Steuk, 58, was driving in the 1000 block of East Milwaukee Street when the deputy pulled over the vehicle.

The deputy discovered during the stop that Steuk’s driver’s license was suspended and arrested Steuk.

The deputy then discovered drug paraphernalia and a substance that was believed to be methamphetamine, the news release stated.

Steuk was arrested on those additional charges and transported to the Clay County Jail.

The news release stated Steuk was held in jail until she could appear before a magistrate.
