An Aurelia man arrested Aug. 10 following a traffic stop for driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia was found to also have methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe when he arrived at the Clay County Jail.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported Scott Alan Engelke, 50, was arrested at 4:24 a.m. after the traffic stop in the 4300 mile of Highway 71.
Engelke had been pulled over for speeding. That’s when it was discovered that his license was suspended.
The report also stated “a device used for consuming a marijuana product” was found during the traffic stop.
Engelke was then transported to the Clay County Jail. There, authorities reportedly found he had concealed on himself a methamphetamine pipe and methamphetamine.
The items were discovered by a jailer, according to the report.
In total, Engelke was charged with driving while suspended, speeding, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility and possession of drug paraphernalia in a correctional facility.
Engelke was held in jail to appear before a magistrate.
