Spencer police in a press release stated Jaime Salina Munoz, 22, of Shalimar, Florida, robbed the Dynos Convenience Store at 1001 South Grand Ave.

Officers responded at 10:18 p.m. to a call that reported the robbery. The call indicated a male suspect left the store in a white Chevrolet Malibu and then headed west.

Clay County Sheriff’s deputies also responded. They located and stopped the vehicle in the Verizon parking lot at 712 11th St. SW.

Munoz was identified and taken into custody on charges of first-degree robbery (Class B felony).

Police stated an investigation determined that Munoz had walked into the store and tried to purchase a can of beer. While he was talking to the clerk, he reportedly showed the clerk a firearm that was tucked into his waistband.

That’s when he also demanded money, according to the press release.

Munoz then left the store with the cash and got into the Malibu, authorities said.

Officers recovered the cash and a CO2 BB gun.

Munoz was booked into the Clay County Jail. He was being held on a $25,000 bond as of Monday morning.
