Driver suffers ‘non-life threatening’ injuries in overnight accident

A Spirit Lake man suffered what authorities called “non-life threatening” injuries in an accident shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday in the 2400 mile of 350th Street.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported Robert Peters was driving a 2011 Silverado east when he was approaching the S curves in the road.

Peters went off the roadway at the curve. The truck collided with the railroad crossing arm assembly.

The pickup truck was listed as totaled in the crash report.
