A stolen truck was recovered Sunday at a county gravel pit near Graettinger.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office stated the truck, a 2018 Ford F350 owned by Iowa Lakes Electric, had been reported as stolen form a residence on Highway 18 west of Ruthven.
The truck was taken from the residence sometime between the evening of May 23 and the morning of May 24.
Authorities stated the truck was discovered at the gravel pit where they determined there was an attempt to dispose of the truck in the water.
However, the truck got stuck in loose gravel and did not enter the water.
The sheriff’s office stated the truck was returned.

The Iowa State Patrol and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
