The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation (Corridor) is excited to welcome Summer Office and Events Assistant Mia Simpson to their team.
Simpson will be a senior at Spencer High School this fall. She is involved in cross country, National Honor Society, student council, Key Club and volunteers with the Spencer Community School Foundation. She is also a participant in No Boundaries, a project-based learning program bringing businesses and students together to complete passion-based, real-world projects.
Simpson will be assisting the Corridor in a variety of areas including event planning, fundraising, social media and website management. After graduating, Simpson plans to attend Des Moines Area Community College to study marketing.
“I am excited to work with the Iowa Lakes Corridor because I hope to come back to the area after college,” Simpson said. “This position will allow me to build my network and create connections. Also, because I want to go into marketing, I will be able to get a head-start on my skills before going to DMACC next fall.”
“There are so many talented young people in the region and each year one of them brings tremendous value to our organization,” says Corridor CEO Kiley Miller. “We are excited to see how much Mia can achieve.”
