It pays to eat downtown: Spencer Main Street celebrates restaurant week

Restaurants are a vital part of any downtown area. Since that includes Spencer, which has 11 restaurants in and around its downtown, Spencer Main Street is celebrating Main Street Iowa Restaurant Week until Sunday. It’s the second year Main Street Iowa has held the promotional week. Spencer Main Street Executive Director Nancy Naeve said the week, which began Sept. 14, spreads the word about Spencer’s downtown eateries and gives people incentives for dining.
