Spencer woman taken in on warrant, arrested for additional drug charges

A Spencer woman with an active warrant was arrested early Thursday morning and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at the time of her arrest. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release that Samantha Jo Bauler, 27, was a passenger in the vehicle that a deputy stopped in the 1900 mile of 350th Street. The deputy found Bauler had an active warrant. She was arrested at 3:34 a.m. and taken to the Clay County Jail. While being arrested, Bauler was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, the sheriff’s office stated.

Two people face drug possession charges after warrant check, search in Spencer

Two people face charges after authorities found marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a search of a Spencer residence Sunday night. The search followed a warrant check by a Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy at 119 West 2nd Street on Juan Fernando Martinez Jr., 57, just before 7 p.m.

Martinez Jr. had an active Clay County warrant for driving with a denied, suspended, cancelled or revoked license, according to court records. He was taken into custody with help from the Spencer Police Department, a news release from the sheriff’s office states. While the investigation was taking place, Veronica Millison, 51, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest.

Spencer PD K9 sniffs out drugs; arrest made

A Spencer police investigation Monday led to the arrest of a Spirit Lake woman for methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia possession. Police arrested 31-year-old Heather Ann Luehring after the Spencer Police Department K9 had alerted to the drugs during an investigation at the north Dyno’s gas station. In a news release, Spencer Police Chief Mark Warburton stated police were dispatched to the gas station in reference to a counterfeit bill investigation. The Spencer K9 was called to assist. The dog alerted to a narcotic odor coming from a vehicle, according to the release.

Traffic stop results in arrest, drug charges

An Aurelia man arrested Aug. 10 following a traffic stop for driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia was found to also have methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe when he arrived at the Clay County Jail. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported Scott Alan Engelke, 50, was arrested at 4:24 a.m. after the traffic stop in the 4300 mile of Highway 71. Engelke had been pulled over for speeding. That’s when it was discovered that his license was suspended.

Ohio man arrested for OWI, drug possession

An Ohio man was arrested August 6 for OWI, drug possession and other charges after he was found unconscious in his vehicle. A report from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office stated Bryan Flowers Jr., 29, of Logan, Ohio, was found unconscious in his 2017 Dodge Ram at the 230th Avenue and 365th Street intersection. Authorities had been called to the intersection at about 6:30 a.m.

After an investigation, Flowers was determined to be under the influence of drugs. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated, first offense; possession of methamphetamine, first offense; possession of marijuana, first offense; possession of “other drug,” according to authorities, first offense; no drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia. Flowers was held in the Clay County Jail to appear before a magistrate, according to the report.

Fostoria man arrested on warrants, meth found in his vehicle

A Fostoria man who had three active arrest warrants now faces meth possession and numerous other charges following a traffic stop Sunday. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release that Crayton Heinrichs, 40, was initially arrested following a traffic stop in which he was found to have three active warrants out for his arrest. Those warrants were for probation violation, contempt of court and failing to appear to serve a mandatory seven-day mittimus. He was also charged with no insurance, operating a non-registered vehicle and fraudulent use of registration. Heinrichs was transported to the Clay County Jail.

Woman arrested for meth possession

A Spencer woman was charged with possession of meth July 26 after a Clay County sheriff’s deputy arrested her for driving while suspended and then found the substance and paraphernalia in the vehicle she was driving. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release that Ranae Leeann Steuk, 58, was driving in the 1000 block of East Milwaukee Street when the deputy pulled over the vehicle. The deputy discovered during the stop that Steuk’s driver’s license was suspended and arrested Steuk. The deputy then discovered drug paraphernalia and a substance that was believed to be methamphetamine, the news release stated. Steuk was arrested on those additional charges and transported to the Clay County Jail.

Two arrested for drug charges after traffic stop

Two men were arrested for drug charges following a traffic stop last week in the 3700 mile of US-71 in Spencer. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported that early July 7, a deputy stopped a vehicle being driven by Micah Aden, Rolfe, for traveling 82 mph in a 55 mph zone on the highway. After an investigation, it was determined that Aden did not have a valid license or insurance and he was arrested. A passenger in the vehicle, Dalton Arends, Laurens, was found to be in possession drug paraphernalia and was also arrested. Authorities searched the vehicle.

Two arrested at Scharnberg Park campground

Authorities arrested a woman on drug charges and a man on arrest warrants from other counties last week at Scharnberg Park campground after authorities were called to the park. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported that Amanda Mckee, 37, listed as homeless, was arrested at about 8:30 a.m. July 9 following an investigation. A campground host had called to report that Mckee was intoxicated. According to a report, Mckee was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Earlier, at about 8 a.m., authorities arrested Christopher Mckee, 42, at the park.

Sheriff’s office finds drugs after impounding, searching vehicle

A Milford woman faces multiple drug charges and a Hartley man faces two traffic-related charges connected to a June 12 stop about two miles east of Peterson. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office on Friday reported a deputy at 6 p.m. June 12 stopped a vehicle being driven in the 3400 mile of 145th Avenue by Edwin Gonzalez, of Hartley. The deputy knew Gonzalez did not have a valid driver’s license, according to a report. Gonzalez was arrested at the scene. The Clay County K-9 was then brought in and alerted to the vehicle, which was towed to the sheriff’s office impound lot.
